Co-organized activities
Over the years I have been in the planning committee of the following events:
1
Satellite Symposium Diversify NetSci (Diversify Network Science)
2022, 2024
Diversify NetSci is an initiative aiming at fostering diversity in the field of Network Science in terms of race, gender, sexual orientation, geographical origin, and other axes of identity. Diversify NetSci aims to highlight the ongoing contributions of underrepresented groups to the field of Network Science and create a community where we can discuss the visible and invisible barriers these groups face in research and academia.
2
Satellite Symposium NetSciEd (Network Science and Education)
2018 - 2024
Network Science and Education is a venue to discuss anything related to network science and education, including educational activities to teach/learn network science and applications of network science to understand, model, and improve educational systems and practices.
3
New England Future Faculty Workshop
2021 - 2024
This workshop is organized by the ADVANCE Office of Faculty Development at Northeastern and a few other Institutions of New England. Applications are open to all graduate students and early career researchers who are in Faculty positions in Academia. The goal is to increase representation of scholars from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds, to provide professional development opportunities for cultivating future faculty applicants, to offer personalized feedback on application materials, and to develop support networks for future mentorship.
4
Complex Systems Society (CSS) Warm-up School
2016, 2018
Informal school organized by the Young Researchers of the Complex Systems Society (yrCSS) for phd students and early career scientists. It takes place in the beginning of the annual Conference on Complex Systems (CCS) and lasts for two-three days.
5
Conference on Complex Systems (CCS)
2018
The flagship conference of the Complex Systems Society (CSS).
6
Northeast Regional Conference on Complex Systems (NERCCS)
2018
This conference brings together scientists working on Complex Systems located in the Northeast USA. The Conference also included a School for students and early career researchers.
7
Society of Young Network Scientists (SYNS) first Symposium at NETSCI
2017
SYNS is an organization designed to support early-career network scientists by creating a community of research and career advice. Their first symposium took place in 2017 at the annual Network Science Conference (2016).
8
Satellite Nonlinear Dynamics in Chemical Systems at CCS 2015
2015
This symposium took place at the annual Conference on Complex Systems in 2015 in Arizona, USA. It brought together scientists around the globe who worked on nonlinear dynamics in chemical systems.
9
4th International Workshop on Statistical Mechanics and Dynamical Systems
2014
This workshop took place between 17-19 July, 2015 in Athens, Greece and focused on Statistical Mechanics and Dynamical Systems.
10
4th PhD Summer School Conference on Mathematical Modeling of Complex Systems
2014
This international school took place between 14-25 July, 2014 in Athens, Greece.
11
Workshop of the Young Researchers Network on Complex Systems
2014
The Young Researchers Network on Complex Systems (YRNCS, now yrCSS) organized a five-day-long workshop for phd students and early career researchers. This workshop took place in 2014 right after the annual Conference on Complex Systems (CCS).
12
Satellite of the Young Researchers Network on Complex Systems at CCS
2012 - 2015
The YRNCS Satellite would take place during the annual Conference on Complex Systems (CCS) and was organized by the Young Researchers Network on Complex Systems (YRNCS, now yrCSS). The Satellite included a presentation session where the young researchers would present their work, one or two panel sessions with senior researchers giving career advice to young researchers, and a job fair. As young researchers were considered graduate students and early career researchers.
